Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone. Here are a few pictures of our celebrations at home last night and this morning. We got home from church last night and Mommy just had to have some pictures with her beautiful little girl. Evy got a really cool Dora play mat and tent from Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Brad that came with a little Dora figurine. She kind of wanted to take Dora to bed with her Sunday night, but alas as Evy fell asleep Dora slipped out of her grasp. So yesterday she started showing Dora the stable where Baby Jesus was born. I think Dora spends more time there now than Mary or Joseph. That Dora sure does like Jesus.
Here is Evy last night out of her pretty dress and carrying around the Christmas pj's she just unwrapped.
And this morning after waking up at 6:00 am and not being very happy about it, we took her downstairs and a little present opening sure cheered her up. Here she is trying to play with her new baby doll and her magna doodle all at the same time.
Finally, she really wanted to wear the baby doll's hat. She never seemed to get it quite stretched enough.
We hope you were all blessed today by friends and family and, well, a little Jesus too. Merry Christmas.

Trying to take pictures

We spent this weekend hanging out with Grandma and trying to take pictures. I say trying, because Evy has become very aware of the camera and the toy possibilities of said camera. She is our wonderfully curious girl. We tok her on Sat. to get professional pictures taken. We won a photo shoot with a really nice photographer at a silent auction over a year ago and we finally used it. If you would like to see those pictures you need to email me so I can send you the link. They are really pretty good. Evy liked rolling around on the photo mat and trying to poke the camera's lens. But she still got some cute pictures.

And then Sunday night we tried to get a picture or two for the Christmas Card. At this rate you all will be getting Epiphany Cards. Here are a few tries. She is seriously cute and really trying to help with the tree, but doesn't want her picture taken.

I think my cell phone was on the floor next to the pointsetta.

She was checking to make sure we got everything out of the boxes.

This is by far the best picture of the night and sadly we cut the top of her head off.

So, I think we'll try again tomorrow. I hope you are all having a blessed Advent. Love you all. Please email me if you want to see the good pictures.

Thanksgiving and More

So, I did not do a really good job this year taking pictures at Thanksgiving. Evy had a really good time. She refused to take a nap and then almost fell asleep in her sweet potatoes. So, Here are some pictures of Evy with Granny and her cousin Hunter after Thanksgiving. This was a pre-Thanksgiving photo of Evy eating supper. The menu that night included salmon, rice pilaf, and Brussels sprouts. This picture is proof throughout the ages that my daughter ate and loved Brussels sprouts (or as I have renamed them...baby Asian cabbages).

At a silent auction we had the winning bid for this chair. It has a footstool too. Evy wanted her stuffed animals to try it out with her.

And here she is the next day lecturing her animals.

We are having our attic finished so our back spare room is full of previously stored things. I showed Evy one of my old babies and she has adopted her. I thought she'd play with it for a little while and get bored, but she is in love with her baby. It does have kind of reddish-brown eyes, that are a bit creepy. So here is my baby carrying around her baby.

And who can resist touching the camera while mom is trying to take pictures. (Please excuse the boogers...she has a bit of a cold and will not let anyone near her nose. She did use the sign for "hurt" for the first time the other night and then pointed to her little red nose.)

We got our first real snow on Saturday. Evy was not sure she liked it.

But it got better once she figured out she could touch it and it left a mark.

I hope you enjoyed picture overload. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
