Swimming!
So Evy is no longer two weeks old (see post from July 11 "But she's only two weeks old...") so she came with me and the big kids from church to Elm Creek Nature Reserve's swimming pond. First of all this is a strange thing to me. It is not really a lake. It's not really a pool. It bears no resemblance to my grandpa's pond either. This is a hole dug in the ground with a liner put in and a whole ton of sand dumped in and then it was filled with water. There are filters and a tiny bit of chlorine. The good things are there are no fish, no slimy seaweed, no real dirt. The bad things are there are no fish, no seaweed, and no real dirt. But because all those things were missing Evy got to put her feet in. It is such a strange artificial idea of "beach". I'd rather have cold Lake Superior and grandma and grandpa Moyle's stocked to the gills fish pond any day. The only cool thing you find in the sand here is used chewing gum. Ok, enough of my rant about fake lakes.
Here we all are (except Heather, the other adult who is taking the picture).

Here are our feet.
And Evy at the end of the day.
Overall it was a good day. I got a little burnt. Evy got to nap outside. And the kids had a blast.
