More Pics...

I have a bunch of random pictures to share...

This is Evy trying to fall asleep during tummy time.

Larye changing Evy's diaper in Pete's front yard during the parade. (She is going to love that picture when she's older.)

The following are pictures of our family trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. There was an exhibit of an artist known for his mobiles and Larye was really excited. Art + Physics = Happy Larye. Evy was awfully excited too, when she woke up.

Aebleskiver Days

We went home to Tyler this weekend for Aebleskiver Days. The Aebleskiver is a spherical pancake beloved by the Danes. The city of Tyler celebrates this breakfast food yearly. They are pretty tasty. So Evy was at her Grandma and Grandpa Pohlman's house for the first time.

We went to the parade... There was a girl dressed as a giant 'skiever on the end of the fishing line

They throw a lot of candy during the parade. Here is Larye stealing candy from kids. Ha! Ha!

Evy was chillin' during the parade. She was awake for this one, and the sirens still didn't faze her.

From left to right...Evy, Pete, and Jenny. We sat in front of Pete's mom and dad's house. Thanks again Pete and Jenny.

Uncle Dan marched in the RTR Drumline. White uniform, glasses, headband, and cymbals (he's right behind the last bass drum). They were really good drummers and really entertaining.

Evy got to meet Grandma Donna on Sunday, and she was all smiley about it. She smiles all the time now!

Finally, on Monday before we left Tyler, Evy had to visit Grandma Lynn at the post office.

Congrats Firefighters!

Evy and I went to the dedication of the new fire station just down the street from us yesterday. She slept through most of it, but lots of people I work with in the community were there and they got to coo over Evy for the first time. How many babies can say they had two city councilmembers and the mayor reduced to babytalk in one afternoon?

In front of the fire station
l to r facing the camera Mayor RT Rybak, City Councilmember Diane Hofstede, and the acting Fire Chief, I didn't get his name.

Evy slept through the visit. This is the picture I took with one hand while she was in the sling. (Everyone wanted to talk about her splotchy face. We went to the doctor on Tuesday. It is Baby Acne. All we can do is put lotion on it twice a day, and it might last until she's 6 months old. She also got weighed and she is now 9lbs 7oz! Bumps and all we think she's beautiful.)

But she's only two weeks old...

My Uncle John Paul got into a bad motorcycle accident last week and he was airlifted from Upper Michigan to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. The accident was totally the other guy's fault and JP was wearing his helmet. Several major bones were broken, and he will be doing rehab in Duluth for a while. so your prayers are appreciated.

Uncle John and Aunt Maggie had thought of coming down to Tomahawk to see Evy while we were there, so instead we all went to Duluth this weekend. Evy got lots of love and passed around to my cousins Erin and Laura as well. It was good to be there for them and bring a little bit of joy.

So, Evy also got to stay in her first hotel room. As Larye checked us into the hotel they gave him three armbands for admittance to their fabulous "water park". It was a big slide and a fountain in a kiddie pool. Larye thanked the woman checking us in and told her we wouldn't need three as our daughter is only two weeks old. And her response is, "Well, there's a kiddie pool." Better yet, as Larye is telling me this story in the elevator with Evy in her car seat on the floor, another random guest turns and looks at us as she leaves the elevator and says, "There is a kiddie pool and it's only a foot deep." Larye and I answered in unison, "She's only two weeks old!"

So, Evy never got in the pool, but she did go to the beach and saw a really big boat. Here's us at the beach.

Evy seems to really like her sling. It's a good place to sleep all snuggled up next to mommy. I like it too because she is such a sweet little person to snuggle.

I also promised pictures of the first stroller ride and Grandma Lynn being at our house, so here they are...

Evy's First 4th of July

We went home to Tomahawk for the 4th of July. This is a huge holiday in Tomahawk with chicken bbq, a parade, fireworks, basically all the fixings. This year it also meant that I got to go to my 10 year class reunion. It was just like eating lunch every day in high school. We sat at the same tables with our friends and didn't talk to anyone else. It was good to see friends I hadn't seen in a while. SO it was a weekend of firsts for Evy...

First real bath after the umbilical cord fell off

First time at Grandma's quilt shop

First chicken bbq with Daddy cooking

First parade (on the outside)

And here is Evy during all the sirens...

Daddy put the burp cloth up against her ears to protect them.

I also have pics from last week when Grandma Lynn was at our house and we tried out the stroller for the first time. But they are going to wait as it is time for Miss Evy to eat!
